Jorge has worked in medical and community settings for over 8 years. He feels happy to use his ability to speak Spanish and English to help individuals and professionals better communicate as an interpreter, facilitator, and advocate. Jorge has experience working with Medicaid, FoodShare, County Departments, Hospitals, and many other fields. He finds satisfaction and happiness in helping people. Although Jorge was born and raised in Quito, Ecuador, he feels like a Wisconsinite. He has lived in the Fox Valley area for the last 14 years, where he met his wife of almost 10 years. He enjoys watching the Packers and Brewers play, spending time with his wife and two Labradors, hiking, or reading a good book.
For Jorge, each interaction is an opportunity to build relationships, make our community stronger, and contribute positively to our neighbor’s well-being. For him, there is no better feeling than turning frustration into hope, and giving individuals a reason to smile.

In my role, I make sure people have the resources they need to live healthier lives. I have experience in health research, community outreach, and teaching, which helps me assist families dealing with challenges like food insecurity, housing issues, and getting access to healthcare.

Outside of work, I love spending time with my family and friends, exploring the outdoors, gardening, and getting involved in local community projects. It's very rewarding to make a difference in people's lives, and seeing the relief on families' faces reminds me that no one should go hungry.

I have always had a passion for helping others throughout my career working in nonprofit organizations. I’ve had the opportunity to support the Spanish speaking community through different programs available to low-income families. If they are facing the electricity being turned off or at risk of being homeless and now food insecurity these challenges are every day a struggle for our community. It is so rewarding to be able to support the families I come to connect with. Their smiling faces are a sign of relief that people do care and that no one should go hungry!
